Troels Hammer
The Old North Trail

The seventh LP from Danish composer Troels Hammer further explores the borderlands of modern classical and ambient pop.

The music of The Old North Trail is expansive and serene, with strong spiritual leanings and meditative effects. The album is produced with both acoustic piano, synthesizers and electronic sequences.

In writing the album, Hammer was inspired by the world of lost knowledge, of distant cultures, and ancient religions, of totem animals, sacred plants, guardian angels, of other planes of existence and strange rifts in time.

The album features several vocal performances by Clara Valente and Basyani. It also features several collaborations with other musicians such as Jacob Gurevitsch, Mathias Heise and the artist’s son Mads Emil Hammer.
